• Today we dissected a five paragraph argumentative essay in order to examine its overall structure and individual parts. Tomorrow we'll read a nonfiction article and use the model we examined to write our own five paragraph essay.

• Today we continued with Sentence Composing, adding subjects and predicates to existing sentences, and examining how writing is constructed of "chunks" of words that flow in a predictable way.

• Today we began exploring Paragraphs for Middle School: A Sentence Composing Approach, which is a writing strategy aimed at improving our writing through the study and imitation of models from professional writing.
